Student Engagement Coordinator [Qatar]


 

The Student Engagement Coordinator will manage the distribution of student centered communications, departmental events in support of NU-Q students, and serve as the primary point of contact for NU-Q’s international students. Through communication efforts and direct student engagement, this individual will support the dissemination of information, build community through social media, and mentor students to promote an active student life community.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage student-oriented communication strategies such as development of email content, social media, newsletters, and other announcements. Includes analyzing analytics to improve the dissemination of information and engagement with student stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for NU-Q international students including support programs, serving as the QF Housing liaison, and support of visa and RP processes.
  • Oversee large scale Student Affairs events, including marketing campaigns, submission portals, organizing planning committees, and engaging external stakehodlers.
  • Manage NU-Q athletics, including coordination with Qatar Foundation and branch campuses, to promote engagement and student support.
  • Shared guidance of student clubs and organizations through coaching and mentoring student leaders.
  • Ownership of the student affairs SharePoint site content, including events calendar, digital assets, and photo library
  • Serve as the NU-Q liaison to the Qatar Chapter of the NU alumni association, including coordination with the alumni board, managing meeting logistics, and assisting with the relationship with Evanston’s alumni relations office
  • Support for orientation initiatives including: oversight of the Media Specialists, management of international student orientation, and orientation for Semester in Qatar students.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-2 years previous work experience in en educational institution or like entity.

Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)

  • Strong English writing skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the social media, and how it can be used to promote engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with student, staff, and faculty in a university environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills with an ability to deliver a clear and concise message to a variety of audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in coaching or mentorship
  • Experience with social media marketing and web content development

Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)

  • Knowledge of graphics software such as Photoshop.
